AFFILIATIONS

TRACIT and the Autoridad Nacional de Aduanas (Panama Customs, ANA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to support the better performance of the parties to prevent smuggling, customs fraud, trafficking in illicit substances and control of trafficking in counterfeit products.

TRACIT is a member of The Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC) Associate Experts Group (AEG). Established in 1962, BIAC stands for policies that enable businesses of all sizes to contribute to growth, economic development, and societal prosperity. TRACIT is a registered civil society organization with the Organization of American States (OAS). TRACIT was approved by the OAS Permanent Council in August  2021, and supports the OAS activities by strengthening the mechanisms of cooperation between Civil Society and OAS Member States on the topic of illicit trade.

TRACIT and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to deepen collaboration between the two organizations to improve the international response to serious transnational organized crime and illicit trade.

TRACIT received Permanent Observer Status with the World Intellectual Property Association (WIPO) during the General Assembly meeting in September 2020. This presents a valuable opportunity for TRACIT to engage in the dialogue on the importance of protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), crucial to maximizing the value of human creativity and innovation and promoting economic development. TRACIT also participates in the WIPO Advisory Committee on Enforcement.

TRACIT is a member of the Buy Safe America Coalition, a diverse group of responsible retailers, consumer groups, manufacturers, intellectual property advocates and law enforcement officials who support efforts at all levels of government to protect consumers and communities from the sale of counterfeit and stolen goods. The coalition supports legislation that requires online marketplaces to collect and verify basic information of third parties who sell products on their platforms. Visit the Coalition here.

TRACIT supports the annual Business 20, or B20 process. The B20 represents the business community across all G20 member states and industry sectors. B20 seeks to support the G20 in developing approaches and policies to address the global challenges and priorities defined by the G20 countries. During the 2023 India B20 cycle, TRACIT will actively participate and share its expertise with the Inclusive GVCs for Resilient Global Trade and Investment Taskforce, allowing us to engage with our partners and new stakeholders on the threat of illicit trade to G20 economies.
